STUDIO WORKSHOPS
are held in my
San Diego studio, on the outdoor terrace, weather permitting (in
San Diego, the weather usually cooperates year-round). A delicious
lunch is included for full-day workshops.
A Loom in a Tube
will be provided for the class, and may be purchased at the end of
the class, or you may bring your own loom.
For
out-of-towners, studio workshops give you a reason to enjoy some
fine weather in San Diego. Transportation will be provided to and
from select local hotels. Please ask us for a list of hotels.

This is a free workshop
for anyone who has forgotten how, or is having trouble
starting to warp your Loom in a Tube. We will cover basic
warping, how to warp using the optional warp adapter, tips and
tricks for getting even warp tension, and advancing the warp.
Bring your loom or buy one when you come.

selection, how to avoid draw-in, and good yarn/bad yarn
choices.

Beads"
Freeform weaving provides a way
to explore the interaction of colors and textures with
spontaneity. The juxtaposition of beads and yarn adds further
interest and endless possibilities. Use this technique to
weave purses, pouches, tapestries and clothing.

"Weaving with Yarn and Beads
Together"
Beads or
yarn, yarn or beads… Can’t decide which you like better? This
workshop lets you work with both by teaching you loom weaving
techniques for combining beads and yarn. You will learn basic
weft-faced weaving techniques using textured and metallic
yarns, which are interwoven with areas of bead weaving. The
techniques are adaptable to curvilinear shapes or geometric
patterns to create beautiful contrasts in color and texture.
No weaving experience is required. Participants may bring
their own loom or use one provided by the instructor.

Weaving"

weave geometric and pictorial tapestries in this two day
workshop. Day 1 we'll work on techniques for geometric designs
(as in Navajo rugs). Day 2 covers techniques for weaving
